I worked with Camilla Knight (PhD Professor of Sport & Youth Sport) and Kurtis Pankow ( PhD Lecturer & Postgraduate Research Tutor) to produce an illustrated educational story. "Don't Forget To Have Fun" is a story that is inspired by Camilla Knight's research in parenting kids involved in sports.
The story revolves around brother and sister, David and Emily, who love to play sport. During a football game, they witness their friend, Dylan, experience harsh criticisms from their Mum on the sidelines. This prompts the siblings to consider what are the best ways for parents to support and encourage them in sports. The story includes questions for children and their parents/carers to discuss at the end. Here are some illustrations from the book. The book is currently in editing and production, so I will share photos of the physical book soon.
